This one is... unexpected.
When I wrote the denouement of "Dogs of War," I thought it would be fun to hint that Ari's mother Gwen and the Brit pack leader Anton were possibly starting up a romance. An older couple being romantic and sexual together! They're only in their fifties, so why not let them have any fun? Well, as it turns out, because I was unenthused by the idea of writing them together. But then another idea cropped up, and it wouldn't leave me alone: Milo and Gwen. Milo is Ari's age, which makes Gwen old enough to be Milo's mother. I'm a big fan of older/younger, but the fact it was Ari's friend and Ari's mother made it seem taboo. And of course extra taboo just meant it was even more appealing. So here it is!
(also, posting here before I post anywhere else, so if you spot any typos or errors, feel free to warn me before I throw it at other sites ;D)Summary:
After the events of "Dogs of War," Gwen visits London for the possibility of a romantic interlude. Her plans fall through, but Milo offers her an intriguing alternative. (4,306 words)Barking Up the Wrong Tree
